Ms. Atack - Guidance
Today the Guidance Office will help students who would like to switch msips.  Students are able to come to Guidance during their MSIP with a completed MSIP Change request form to see if they can make the switch.  Today is the only day to do this.

Mr. Brophy- Mediterranean Trip
There will be a meeting for all those that registered and anyone interested in travelling to Greece and Rome next March Break this thursday in the library at the beginning of lunch.  Paperwork and parent meeting details will be given so if you are unable to attend please come see Mr. Brophy.

Mrs. Tilly - Swim Team
Reminder to all interested students that there will be a swim team information meeting tomorrow at lunch in room 310.

This is the week! All students who are planning on auditioning for this year’s musical, “Into the Woods,” are reminded that you need to attend the correct workshop this week. First workshop is TODAY  for the girls, and the second workshop will take place tomorrow for the boys. If you have any questions, please come see Mrs. Risko or Mrs. Stickney as soon as possible. This is your chance to take a risk on something that could change the way you see your high school career. Have a great day!

Attention all swimmers!!  The Simcoe Swim team is looking for experienced and recreational swimmers who would like to get fit, compete and have fun. Previous competitive experience is not necessary, but you must be a competent, strong swimmer. Swimming is a great workout, ideal for any athletes who are cross-training and looking to improve endurance. So whether you’re looking to be the next Olympic superstar or just looking for a fun way to get involved and get fit, swim team is for you!  Our first meeting will take place at the start of lunch in room 310 on Thursday September 20th. Mr. Grant - Art Club and Float Decoration
Art Club will be hip and happening after school today from 2:15pm to 4:00pm in the art room. New Redcoat artists are welcome. Furthermore, Mr. Grant is looking for a crew to design and decorate the Simcoe Float in the forthcoming Grande Parade. Float design and decoration will happen on Friday, September 28th at 5:00pm and tear down will happen on Saturday, September 29th (after the parade). Community hours will be given. Mrs. Stickney - Jazz Band
There will be a jazz band rehearsal after school today in the music room starting at 2:20. If you play an instrument and enjoy making music, come out and join us. Piano player needed! If there is a fellow Redcoat, who has their grade 6 or higher in piano, the jazz band needs you! Please see Mrs. Stickney today if you are interested.

Any Grade 9 student interested in joining our student council this year should pick up an application form in the Guidance office today.  Forms are due back Monday at 2:10 pm.

Attention Mr. Cockburn’s Period 5 class and Ms. Wade’s period 5 class.  If you are interested in going to the Brock Student Summit please come down to Guidance today for a permission slip.  We will be taking the first 20 students who show up to Guidance on Monday with their completed permission form and their $20.

The Lake Street Armoury is hosting a Career Fair tonight on Thursday, 13 September from 5:00PM – 9:00PM.  Any student or teacher that is interested in the Army Reserve or Military Coop is welcome to come out and view some of the kit and equipment we use as well as get more information.

Attention Grade 9’s - If you didn’t receive an invitation to the Grade 9 BBQ and Meet the Teacher Night please come down to the Guidance Office and pick one up.  To be clear, your whole family is invited. If you have younger siblings in elementary school please make sure to include them. We need you to return your form with your food order to your period 1 teacher by tomorrow.

Are you interested in playing football this year for the Redcoats.  There is a role and position for everyone. Practices began on Wednesday but you are not too late to join.  Practices are from 2:20 to 4:30 and continue each day on the back field. Players are to wear t-shirts, shorts and running shoes/ cleats.   All other equipment will be provided. If you are unable to attend please come see Mr Brophy in the boys Phys ed
