This weekend two Simcoe grade 9 girls competed at the Athletics Canada Indoor National Track & Field Championships in Toronto. Congratulations to Sophia Tzvetkov who earned a silver medal in the U16 Girls Pentathlon. Pentathlon is a discipline where Sophia and her competitors had to square off in 60 m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, and 800 m all within a few hours and receive a numerical score based on their performance in each event. Also congratulations to Amalynn Berardi who finished 5th in Canada in the U16 Girls 60 m dash with a personal best time of 8.07 seconds.
